Our business in the travel industry is divided into two parts: Technology and Tourism.
Technology
Tourism
Through our subsidiary H&E for Travel and Tourism Operations, we are the Exclusive Distributor of Amadeus IT Group S.A. in Kuwait. Amadeus is a Spanish company based in Madrid and it is the world’s leading travel technology company. Since taking on the Distributorship in January of 2019, we have successfully increased the Amadeus market share of the Global Distribution System (GDS) market in Kuwait, from 23% to over 40% as of today.
Our decision to take on this part of the business is based on our respect towards the travel industry as a whole, and our belief that we can add value to it.
With our vast experience working with travel agencies on both personal endeavors and professional ones made through Amadeus, we strategically decided to establish our own travel agency: Ojeen Travel and Tourism Operations.
Ojeen was established with our customers in mind, and the intention of making their booking processes easier, faster and the most convenient.

Established in 2014, Roots emerged with a vision to provide meticulously crafted meals tailored for health enthusiasts. Over time, it has carved a reputation for delivering dishes that are not only rich in nutrients and bursting with flavor but also consist of the highest quality ingredients. Sarab, recognizing the brand’s value and trajectory, is proud to hold a significant stake in this esteemed establishment.

Education
Ruba is Sarab Holding Company’s first foray into the venture capital scene. Ruba’s goal is to become the one-stop shop for all your educational financing needs and its purpose is to revolutionize education financing and facilitate access to a quality education for all. This purpose speaks volumes to the integrity and long-term vision of the company, which made us all the more excited to participate in its seed round.
Lifestyle
Through our subsidiary Traders Guild for Export and Import, we are the exclusive distributors of Blackroll products in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC). Blackroll identifies as a Healthstyle company, meaning that the products and services we offer and distribute in the GCC are easy and intuitive to use for every life situation and lifestyle, and that experts in sport and health – scientists, doctors, therapists and professional athletes – are convinced of. These span from sports injury equipment to products catered to occupation ergonomics.
Livestock
Our business in Livestock is fueled by pure passion. It is the first of our ventures to be pursued abroad, in Turkey to be exact, and it is at the forefront of our business expansion strategy. The intention is for us to be amongst the largest importers of livestock in Kuwait and, eventually, the GCC as a whole.
About our Founder
Sarab Holding Company was founded with the purpose of uniting the businesses and ventures of Mr. Hamed Taleb Al Nakib. Prior to embarking on his business endeavors in the late 1990s and becoming the serial entrepreneur and perennial businessman he is today, Mr. Hamed served as a military officer in Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense for 17 years. Since then, he has been actively involved in the fields of Internet Technology, Livestock & Agriculture and Travel & Tourism – holding both executive and non-executive positions in the aforementioned industries.
Today, Mr. Hamed serves as Sarab’s Head Advisor after handing the reins over to his children, Haya, Taleb and Mohammed, who are partners in the company. Guided by his teachings and oversight, they continue to raise the bar for Sarab and are in consistent pursuit of long-term success in the spirit of Mr. Hamed.
Some of Mr. Hamed’s career milestones include the following:
• Q8 Online
Mr. Hamed was a co-founder and the CEO of Q8 Online, an internet service provider (ISP) which took the industry by storm in the late 1990s and early 2000s when the company introduced pre-paid internet cards for the first time in Kuwait.
• FASTtelco
Following his success with Q8 Online, Mr. Hamed joined Fastelco, a millennial titan of the internet technology space in Kuwait, to serve as its General Manager.
• Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA)
Mr. Hamed served as an Adviser to KIA, the world’s third largest sovereign wealth fund, on matters related to food security.
• Hassad Food
Mr. Hamed served as an Adviser to Hassad Food, an investment arm of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), on matters related to its expansion abroad.
• Kuwait United Poultry Company
Mr. Hamed was appointed a board member and the General Manager of Kuwait United Poultry Company, the largest poultry company in Kuwait.
• Amadeus IT Group, S.A.
In 2019 H&E for Travel & Tourism Operations, a wholly-owned Sarab subsidiary, was appointed the Exclusive Distributor of Amadeus IT Group, S.A. in Kuwait. Amadeus is a Spanish company based in Madrid and it is the world’s leading travel technology company Mr. Hamed serves as H&E’s Managing Director.
